U.S. Roaming

We offer U.S. Roaming Add-Ons with one service, or a combination. All U.S. Roaming Add-Ons will last 10 days. This 10-day period begins when you pay for the Add-On and ends 10 days later at 11:59PM ET.

Below are some important things you should know about U.S. Roaming Add-Ons:

  • We’ve partnered with AT&T and T-Mobile to provide you with fantastic coverage. Your U.S. coverage will include all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. For more details, check out our coverage map below:
  • 10 days after you purchase a U.S. Roaming Add-On, it will automatically expire.
  • If you want to purchase two of the same U.S. Roaming Add-Ons, you will have to wait for the first 10-day period to expire before buying the second, or you can contact a Moderator.
  • If you purchase 2 different U.S. Roaming Add-Ons, they will expire separately.
    • For example:
      • You purchase a U.S Roaming Talk, Text, Data Add-On on Day 1 of your plan. It will expire on Day 10.
      • On Day 6 of your plan, you purchase a 1 GB U.S. Roaming Data Add-On. It will expire on Day 15.
  • When you’re roaming, you can still access the internet with a Wi-Fi connection, which won’t deplete your data Add-On.

Hello, Up to now I've been using another provider for travel purposes only. When I compare the pricing, PM is better but I'm not a fan of its two-step process that requires having to go into one's account to activate every 10 days. This means that if one goes away for fourteen days (which is average I would think), PM requires that one pay for an additional ten days following the expiry of the first 10 days; this may be an issue depending on the state or country one travels to. In my case, I'll be travelling to Puerto Rico in a few months. With my other provider, I pre-set in advance the days I need the service for, including the start and end times, and pay upfront. I find this system a lot more convenient because I'm assured of uninterrupted service for the duration of my trip. Not to mention having to keep remembering to renew. Let's face it, the less travel hassles the better. Maybe PM can discuss this amongst their executive team for future updates. Happy Holidays!
If anyone is unsure how exactly to purchase US Roaming add-on(s), please see this guide I created a while back: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Plans-Add-Ons/HOWTO-Purchasing-Add-ons/m-p/198974#M22...
srlawren instructions are clear however, where in the process does PM allow us, the user, to choose the 'date' that we would like the US Roaming plan to take effect?
@cory_c you can't. They mentioned this in the first paragraph of this knowledge base article. Specifically: "This 10-day period begins when you pay for the Add-On and ends 10 days later at 11:59PM ET."
That's too bad. I hope PM considers improving this in the very near future.
@cory_c I wouldn't count on it. The US Roaming Add-ons were introduced in Nov 2016 and have not changed at all since then.

I am in the U.S. and have been buying 10 day U.S. Roaming Unlimited Talk Add-ons every 10 days.  Then all of a sudden the U.S. Roaming Unlimited Talk Add-on could not be purchased / was not listed on Add-on purchase page, ONLY the U.S. Roaming Unlimited Talk & Text Add-on was available.  What gives ?  I am not using Text and only want to buy Talk.  Is this no longer possible ?

I just returned from a 15-day trip to the US. Before I left, I purchased the 10-day U.S. Roaming Unlimited 'Talk' and 250 MB Data Add-on. I would have pre-paid for the following five days (although I knew I would lose out on five days, but the price was worth it) but did not because my understanding was that you can – only – renew when the ten days are up. On January 31, 2019 (the last day of my plan) I attempted to renew before it expired. I kept going into my account but did not see the US Roaming Talk Add-on. So, I contacted the PM Moderator and the following day received this response, "Due to system limitations, I am afraid that you will not be able to get the same addon for US roaming twice. I do apologize for the inconvenience; however, I can add it for you from my end!" By now I did not have a working phone plan and have since decided that PM may be a good option if you are travelling for no more than 10 days but above that I will pre-purchase with another provider. In addition, I purchase the data add-on and although I had 5% data left, I found it impossible to communicate with PC support other than using free Wi-Fi from a fast food chain. …. Disappointed!

My renewals for 10 day US Roaming Talk (only) have been going well until the last one.  At that time US Roaming Talk (only) was not available so I had to renew with US Roaming Talk & Text.  It seems that the website is VERY unpredictable, at the time of my last US Raoming renewal my account was listed as EXPIRED and only became ACTIVE after logging on & off many times.

Let's hope system updates scheduled for this weekend fixes this issue.... https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Announcements/System-maintenance-on-February-9-2019-2...
