Well, they'll still technically work on the Rogers/Fido 2G GSM network until it's shut down by the end of 2020.

I don't think Amazon would care much about policing obsolete products.. And there's always niche markets for stuff, for example those who want to run open source GSM base stations...

For your information, PM does not support GSM(2G).

@pearleen   what is the new phone?  some phones (usually brought in china or india) are not compatible with the canaidan networks.    did you buy the phone new or used if used could the phone be blacklisted?

Contact the manufacturer/seller/previous owner/previous provider for help

@pearleen What kind of phone? What OS? LG phones require network reset, often. No danger to your phone or software health.

Any message on new phone? 

 

Might be that your new one is locked and you'd have to call the provider that you got the phone from for the unlock code
