If yes
Then you can login to your selfserve, click on plan & add-ons, then change my number. https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/ChangeNumber/
You can do it once every 30 days.
If no:
Then you will have to get a sim card and activate it here. https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/sk/get-started
Most of stores are closed, but you may be lucky and find an open one. Check the site locator here https://www.publicmobile.ca/store-locator
And don't forget to use your friend's referral code, you both benefit

During the activation process, you'll be given a selection of numbers to chose from. Find one in you like and select it.
