activated my acount at 445pm how long before it works its 10pm it not working.

Or maybe you mean how long until calls to your existing cell number that you ported in to Public Mobile will work? (New activations should work right away to make a call but if you didn’t choose a new number and instead ported in a number you should still be able to make a call but not receive calls or texts until the port completes. Typically this is just a  few minutes to a couple of hours but if you ported in a landline or VOIP number it can take longer, even up to a week.

Try to turn airplane mode on and then off again. If that doesn't work, reboot your phone. If that also doesn't work, make sure you contact a Moderator.

@Ronaldleblanc welcome to PM.  If you ported from another cell phone provider, then it should have already been done. Your port may be stuck.  Contact the moderators and explain your situation.  There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:

  • Faster response- Get help with your account the easy way by starting a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon. It’ll take you to relevant help articles, or if it’s something more urgent, it can help you submit a ticket to the Moderator Team. Click here to get started.
  • Slower- Alternatively, you can send a private message to the Moderators by clicking here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Community account for the link to work.

Once connected to Simon, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password.  Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
- Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent.

- Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen.  The mods answer will show up there.  When it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue. Stay safe.

@Ronaldleblanc  It should work immediately. What happens when you insert the sim card and dial 611? Do you get a response? What type of phone do you have? Did you port in you number from another provider?
