I thought long too but in the end everything is working perfectly and I really like the coverage I'm getting.  If you mean a private message to a moderator, it took one full day for one to get back to me, so again patience, which I get is difficult when you want your phone to work.  Just don't cancel your Fido, which you hopefully have not done.

4 days? Wow that's ridiculous.

I no longer have the fido sim unfortunatley.

I still didnt reecive a reply to my private message.

It took a bit longer than I thought but I did switch over on a Friday of a long weekend.  In the end, it all worked out pretty good and the number was switched over after 4 days without me having to do anything else on my part.  Just keep your old phone going and do not cancel with Fido until the port happens.  It is probably just a paper trail issue and will work out with your new phone all of a sudden receiving calls after a couple more days.

I had a similar issue with my port and the PM representative from Walmart told me that sometimes your old company wants to get ahold of you to try and offer you better deals. After no success, the port should fully work. All I needed to do was take out my new SIM and put it back in and the problem was resolved. Hope this helps and that your problem is resolved soon. It's unfortunate to be paying for two services simultaneously due to kick back from previous provider.

Thank you for sharing!Smiley Happy

And keep the last service active is the only way to port your number.

I will just copy you the link that was sent to me.  A moderator responded after one day of me messaging them and I was told it would take 2 full days for the full transfer of my number to go through.  The moderator was very helpful, so just be patient and they will respond.

Hi im also having the same issue with recieving calls and txts but outgoing calls and txt ect is fine. Im having trouble contacting a moderator from pm to look into it from my previous phone company freedom mobile as i have kept my old number. Would you be able to help me contact a pm specialist that can transfer my number so it can be registered under pm?

I still recieve calls on my old phone and account will remain active untill resolved.  I will just carry 2 phones until then!  I've messaged a moderator already.  Thank you!

Number porting is a 2 step process:

1.  PM has done it work to get the Fido number and set up your PM account so that you can call out, send text message and data.

2.  Now, you are waiting Fido to release your number to PM.  Not unless then, your incoming calls and incoming texts will continue to be delivered to your Fido SIM card.

After waiting for one day, you should send a private message to find what is wrong with the port.  Moderator wait time is 2 - 3 days.

At the mean time, you should use the PM SIM card until it stop working.  Then, start using your PM SIM card.

A day is a bit long for a mobile to mobile port, it's quite possible the port is stuck. Your old SIM is likely getting the incoming calls. PM has been having a lot of issues lately, it's quite possible a private message to the mod team would help with this, but they tend to take a few days to respond. I assume your account with Fido is still active and good order? If your account has lapsed, that could cause the issue as well (can't port a number from an inactive account).

Edit: I clearly take too long to write, no one had responded when I started writting lol... at least we were all consistant.

@monkeybikegirlThe reason you can't receive calls is because of the port. Did you receive a message from PM regarding the port and to contact them? Ports normally should not take more than 5 hours to complete but lately other customers are reporting time > 24 hours.

If your port is stuck you need to notify PM. To contact Public Mobile click here. The link sends you to the private message function and adds the moderator team as recipient for a private message. You just have to enter a title and text in the body of the message describing the problem and post. The message will be received by the moderator team and they will respond to it. You will receive the response in your private message inbox.

Moderator Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am(Eastern) to 12 am (Eastern) and Saturday, and Sunday from 8 am(Eastern) to 10 pm (Eastern).

If you need to be able to receive call just continue to use your FIDO sim until it stops working. When it does it means the port is complete. At that point you can start using your PM sim.

@monkeybikegirl  You may have a partially completed port. One of the moderators can take a look, see if they need to do something to move it along.  Click this to send them a message

In the mean time, you may be able to stick in the old fido sim card and have fully functional service.
