Trying to Sign Up and Transfer My Koodo Number

kellyharrell

Hi there,

I'm trying to become a new member with Public Mobile, but cannot get past step #2 with transferring my old phone number to this new account. I am entering the information correctly, but it is not recognizing and saying the info is invalid. I tried waiting for one hour and re-entered only my old account number along with the required phone number and name on the old account, but but this also did not work. Please help. Thanks!

I recently did this and if you follow the activation steps it is easily done! I transferred my number from koodo as well and it went through smoothly. Message me if you want any help or create a ticket :).

@kellyharrell  If your number is from Koodo prepaid you have to activate with a temporary cell phone number and contact the moderators( PM customer service) and ask them to port it for you.  Once you activate. Type " Port Request " and follow the prompts to get to one . Give them the name on the account,  number to port and the Koodo account number.  There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:

  • Faster response- Get help with your account the easy way by starting a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon. It’ll take you to relevant help articles, or if it’s something more urgent, it can help you submit a ticket to the Moderator Team. Click here to get started.
  • Slower- Alternatively, you can send a private message to the Moderators by clicking here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Community account for the link to work.

Once connected to Simon, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password.  Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
- Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent.

- Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen.  The mods answer will show up there.  When it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue. Stay safe.

Welcome to PM .

@kellyharrell  If you are on Koodo prepaid just pick a temp number during activation. Once you have completed the activation then have your Koodo account number, name on the account and Koodo phone number ready and  click this link and type in “port request” to be put in touch with a Moderator.  Provide the Koodo from above and you should be good to go.

I see you are trying to port your number from Koodo.

Note below...

Porting from Koodo:

If your switching from Koodo postpaid your can port-in your number during sim activation. Just have your Koodo account number, name on the Koodo account and Koodo number ready and enter it when choosing your number.

If it's Koodo prepaid then you need to click this link and type in “port request” to be put in touch with a Moderator. Include the Koodo info above.

In addition...did you obtain a Public Mobile SIM card?
