My phone will not accept calls or texts  - I have sent an email over 48 hours ago. Anyone else had this experience and what was the solution?

@Carlos7

You should give some more info if you want better help here.

If you'd rather "talk" with CS and have not heard from them for over 48 hrs , you should open another ticket:

As noted on another post, did you do the following in this order?

If so, any luck?

1. Leave your old SIM in your phone and wait for a SMS text to confirm with a YES you are porting over to PM? You have a 90 minute window to reply once you get the text.

2. Activate the PM on your computer and complete to page 4.

3. Power off the phone once you confirm the text and swap the old SIM with the PM SIM then power on the phone.

Meanwhile, try powering off the phone and wait a few minutes then power on the phone and see if that works.

If you missed any of these steps. You will need to contact a PM CS Agent to restart the process.

@Carlos7

Would like to know more details here...

You only mention issues within incoming calls and texts...but outgoing, you can do - is that correct?

Are you an iphone user and just activated with a new number, OR changed to a different iphone?

Perhaps your iphone needs the phone number set up on it...

Set up your phone number On your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings > Messages and make sure that iMessage is on. You might need to wait a moment for it to activate.
  2. Tap Send & Receive. If you see “Use your Apple ID for iMessage,” tap it and sign in with the same Apple ID that you use on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch.
  3. In the "You can receive iMessages" section, make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are selected.
  4. Go to Settings > FaceTime and make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are selected in the "You can be reached by FaceTime at" section.

while porting have you replied YES to the confirmation SMS from your old provider yet.

If yes, create a ticket here https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

@Carlos7

  1. Did you port your number in upon activation?
  2. If yes did you reply YES to the PAT(porting authorization text) on your old sim card?
  3. Is your old account still active? If yes your port is not complete.

Make sure to try some simple solutions first. Sometimes just a combination of restarting your phone and removing the SIM card and putting it back in can fix a lot of these sorts of problems. It would definitely be worth trying before you spend time dealing with customer service people.

@Carlos7

do you get a SMS message from your old carrier asking to confirm if you would like to port your number. Your reply should be: YES.

The confirmation message can take a few minutes to come in. You have 90 minutes from the time of request..
