How long should it take for my sim card to become activated?

Recently activated 2 SIM cards, activation for a new account took approximately 5-7 minutes including completing account details and inserting SIM into phone.

If you are doing self registration it should be instant. There should not be any delays, however, if you port a number from anothern phone providor it should take anywhere to a few business days to a week.

If your card was charged you should have service.

Did you try your sim?

Is the phone you use compostable with Telus/Bell network and are you sure it's unlocked?

What to expect after activation:

1.  You will receive a welcome email from PM.  If you activate online, your self-serve account will be credted already.  Your login username is your email address.  If you do not received a welcome email, there may be a typo on your email address during activation.

2.  You will receive couple of text messages to info you about your PIN# to your account.  The first text is a randomly gererated PIN# just in case you did not provided a 4 digits PIN.  The second text is the PIN# provided by you.

once you go through the activation process the sim card will be active immediatly.  

if you are porting a number you will be able to call out but incoming calls and sms will go to your old sim till teh port is complete and  your old accouont is closed. this is typically 2 hours for most cell companies.  it takes longer for landlines and voip numbers.

did you activate?  what is your issue?  did you encounter an activation error?

@PamKay , activation is immediate after hitting the submit button on the last page.  Take a look at the entire activation form which should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

If you are doing the self registration then it should be immediate.

If you are porting (transferring) then it could take a few hours.
