Porting number

Hello, my daughter activated her PM sim yesterday and was told by the boutique attendant that she would need to get a new number. Being new to this process, she went ahead and activated her account with a new number.

Is it possible to port her old number back or is she now stuck with this new number?

When you use the porting form i self serve, use only old carrier's account number and don't fill in IMEI or PiN. Only use IMEI or PIN for Speakout.

Select [Plan and Add-Ons]--> [Change Phone Number] --> [Transfer a wireless or wireline number ] to port your old number to PM.

FYI

Number porting is a 2 stage process:
Stage 1. After submited the PM porting form, PM set up your old number on your PM account. Login to your account. Select the [Plan and Add-Ons] tab. Is your old number showing on the [Plan and Add-Ons] display?
If yes, PM has done its work to setup your old number for you to call out, send text and data.
If no, you should create a support ticket for moderator to investigate. Moderator wait time is 2 - 3 days.

Stage 2. Now, you are waiting for your old provider to release you number to PM. Not until your old provider release your number, all the incoming calls and texts will continue to go to your old provider.  Continue to use your old SIM card until it stop working.  Then start using your new PM SIM card.

@Gunner17  - As long as her old number is still active with the previous carrier, she can get the number back.  Just log into self serve portal, and initiate a change phone number.  In there you have the choice to pick a new number, or port(transfer) a number from the previous carrier.  Just follow the prompts and fill in the form.  One special note, though - if the previous account was with Koodo, on a PREPAID account, you would need to contact the moderator team to do the tansfer for you.  Anything else, you can do yourself.
