Porting Over

Just wanted to regale those who are porting over from another provider in case they encounter similar problems.

 

Ported over from: Bell Mobility

My phone: Huawei P20 Pro

Steps taken: took some advice from others in the community (thank you to everyone who tried to help), including resetting my network, pulling out my SIM card, and restarting my phone. All to no avail.

 

Got a ticket into the moderators. Initially they said they got it working, but after a night of still not being able to send/receive texts or receive calls, I updated them.

 

Turns out something in the information was incorrect (either the IMEI or the serial number). I got those on my phone from typing *#06# and sent it to them.

 

They let me know that the porting was successful and it would be 30 mins to 2.5 hours. It ended up being a bit longer than that, but I eventually got the text that it was successful and simply needed to restart.
