Phone Compatability

I am having trouble finding my wife and my phone "sub model" on the compatibility list.  Mine is an Samsung Galaxy A8 SM-A530W my wife is a iPhone SE MP852VC/A.  Both were purchased through Rogers both do not appear on the compatibility list.  Did Rogers just throw an extra number / letter in there to throw people off or is it truly not compatible?

Very old Rogers phones support only GSM(2G) only will not work with PM because Telus network does not support GSM(2G) signal.

Both Samaung A8 and iPhone SE first gen were release in 2016.  Both should work with PM.

These 2 phones should work with PM.

A530W is newer than that as Samsung branded this as the Galaxy A8 (2018), but yes, both of these are more than new enough to have 3g frequencies available.  There was an older model before called Galaxy A8.

On the iPhone SE.

In settings, about, MODEL you will find TWO model numbers.

You will see as in my pic NLXQ2LL/A

Then touch that number and the OTHER Model number will show A1723

Does that help??

@steelcity705 if yoh head over to the telus website or google telus compatible phones thats a quick waynto find out if they are. This is because Public operates on the Telus platform.

hope you have it all figured out.

Before you leave Rogers contact them to unlock your phones. Not long ago I've seen complaints where Rogers employees refused to unlock phones for former customers asking them to login first.

Both phones should work fine on Telus network as they have required frequencies, they just have to be unlocked (if not already)

Also don't forget to enter both emails that you will use for your accounts to qualify for flash sale here

@steelcity705  Any phone sold in North America is compatible both of those phones will work with Public Mobile without any issues.

Both are fully compatible with Public Mobile. A phone doesn't need to be in the list to work. The list will always be incomplete, and likely includes some mistakes as well.

Just make sure they are unlocked and do at least a network reset on both phones before inserting the PM SIM and restarting the phones.

If they worked with Rogers then they should be compatible with PM.  Make sure they are unlocked.  You can also check willmyphonework.net.
