Try resetting the network settings in your iPhone. Hopefully, this will help.

Weird, I replied to this thread a while ago but I'm not seeing it here.  Odd.

Your iPhone 6 must have the iMessage enabled in order to send/receive text on wifi.

Text message is using part of the mobile voice channel to carry the text message.

Therefore, your phone is not connected to PM mobile network.

Re-seat your SIM card and restart your iPhone.  This may help.  YMMV.

It doesn't look like your phone is connecting to the network.  If texting only works when connected to wifi suggests that this is not texting but a messaging system that relies on wifi data instead of a cellular connection.  Can you tell the phone is connecting to the network?  There should an indictor of signal strength if connected.  Has this phone ever successfully connected on the Public Mobile service?

Text (SMS) does not have anything to do with wifi. Unless you are using a 3rd party app.

Did you just port in? What about MMS on cell data?

Did you just port in to public mobile?

How long have you been a customer? Is this a replacement sim?

Do you have an active account? What plan is in your self serve?

What is your IMEI number? Love to help but need a lot more info.

@Karen596 what rectifying steps have you tried?

Usually this boils down to one of 3 things, in approximate order of likeliness:

1) Phone not compatible with Public Mobile.  Unfortunately the IMEI checker on PM's site is not very accurate and often produces false positives.  Please verify on https://www.willmyphonework.net, or post the brand and specific model number here and we can help verify compatibility.

2) Phone locked to previous/original provider.  If you purchased it from a provider prior to Dec 2017, it's probably locked to them.  Locked to Telus or Koodo is fine--locked to anyone else you need to contact them to get it unlocked before you can use it here.

3) If both of the above are not the cause, it's usually an activation/provisioning error and you will need to contact the moderator team for asssistance.  Please verify #1 and 2 above first.

@Karen596, do you have a self serve account set up?  If so, are you able to check the account status to see if it is active?  Assuming that is all in order, are you able to connect the phone to the network?  What phone are you using?
