No incoming calls or messages from automated call / text systems

I recently transferred in from another carrier and I am able to receive and send calls and texts to another device. But for 2FA authentication like WeChat or Banking apps sending texts or voice messages/calls to confirm my identity, my device is not able to receive theses communications. I have the following plan and addons:

 

  • - Unlimited Canada-wide Talk
  • - Unlimited International Text
  • - 500min INTL Long Distance incl CA & US

Any idea how I can receive these messages?

If it's a porting failure, can you put your old SIM back in your phone to try it? If it still works, then your port-out was definitely not received by the old (losing) carrier. You can open a ticket with the moderators or call 844-232-7678 to retry the port. Keep the old SIM active in the phone so you can receive and respond to the verification text within 90 minutes.

There have been some reports that after a complete number ported, these types of messages don't work for the first 48 hours. I would try again after waiting a few days.

@blurpleberry hi I have read from other posts for 2FA authentication like WeChat or Banking apps there is usually a 24 to 48 hour wait after porting from another cell provider before they work

I think in this case you need to contact a moderator, because there is a block on short text codes.  A specialist should be able to remove this.
