New referral and bonus code issue

A friend passed (PM customer 2+ years) along with a link, and code for a new referral however, the link took me to a general PM page (instead of Account Set-up), also the code did not work to my disappointment on the account set-up page, while in-store. What gives?

Lot's are posting their codes etc It's all after the fact, I've activated already - yesterday!

your link should be like this:   https://activate.publicmobile.ca/?raf=ABCDEF  (abcdef is a fake code)     

this bring you to the activation page and you should see the question Were you referred to Public Mobile already populated:

or you can just go to the activation page https://activate.publicmobile.ca/ and enter the code directly for that question.   hope this helps

So you ARE activated now and no referral code was used? You can get the moderators to sort that out after the fact for you. All is not lost. Use the private messaging envelope upper right corner. Send a message to “Moderator_Team”. Then watch the envelope for a reply but it could be hours or a couple of days.

That was my guess also re the link & code. The person didn't get back to me as I was activating in-store, oh well...

You can enter their referral code at https://activate.publicmobile.ca.

Their code should be alphanumeric and it is located on the top right hand corner in their self serve account.

 

If you already activated your account, you could contact a moderator and ask them to apply the referral code.

The most likely explanation would usually be that the code was entered incorrectly due to similar looking characters. Also, there is sometimes some confusion between promo codes and referral codes.

I dont think your friend correctly passsed the activation link to you. If it didn’t take you to the activation form it wasn’t correct. As long as you have the 6 digit referral code you can just go to the link yourself and enter it. Be careful of 0/O S/5 I/L/1 errors etc.
