Hey all,

New PM user here and I'm looking to port in my number from Koodo Prepaid.

Message to mods has been sent as of Sunday with wait times from Simon saying that it'll just be under a couple of hours to get a response back.

However, I recently read in one of the posts that the account needs to be Active in order for the number to be ported.

Unfortunately, my base plan expires tonight (Tuesday, September 10).

In the event that the port isn't completed by then, does the information above hold true?

Will I have to renew my base plan in order to complete the port?

If so, my stay here may very well be short-lived since I'll start accumulating credits with Koodo Prepaid again, but any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you would have to have an active base plan.

I’m not exactly sure why Public is making it so difficult.

The reason it is this way is because Public Mobile and Koodo Prepaid both share the same backend, making it impossible for a customer to port through self-serve.

You can port your phone number using the self serve account. It took me less than an hour to port my old fido prepaid number.

Instructions:

1. Log in to your self serve account

2. Click on the Plan and Add-ons tab

3. Click on change phone number tab

4. Choose the second option "Transfer a wireless or wireline number ..."

5. Enter your old phone number and account number

@yhc01For your information you cannot port a Koodo prepaid number using selfserve. It must be done by the Moderator Team.
