Is it normal for Rogers SMS messages to be delayed (new activation)?

Hi, I just switched from Koodo to Public Mobile yesterday.

SMS messages from another Koodo phone were delivered instantly but messages from a Rogers phone took over an hour to be delivered. Later in the evening SMS messages from the Rogers phone appeared fairly quickly.

When I sent messages using SMS to these two phone numbers they were delivered instantly.

Is this normal behavior (I really hope not or else I'll have to go back to Koodo)? Or is this strange delay for the Rogers messages a one-time event related to the porting of my number?

Hi, i too had this problem, of delayed texts when i had a Petro Mobility SIM (Rogers).

Thats why i switched to Public Mobile.

That could be a phone issue, something not playing nice with the SMS app.  It could also be the local network connection being weak.  You may want to monitor it to see if there are any patterns or trends.

I had this issue for a couple hours after activation, went away after the new sim synced up with Public Mobiles network. 

Also, one of the reasons I left Rogers was their intermitent service. ( Broken calls, lost texts, etc).
