Flip Phone for PM

Hi,

Can someone who is "CURRENTLY" using a flip phone with public mobile let me know the model that you are using. I'm looking for one for my mom. I know there are many out there but most won't work. I personally have 2 unlocked one but they don't work. Thanks.

I don't believe that Rogers/Fido/Chatr has been selling any 2g only phones for years now.  There's always the possiblity of very old stock in a place that doesn't selll many phones, but I doubt many will be able to find any such devices at retail.

ZTE is definitely cheap with the discount. But the alcatel ones both cost $100, which is the cost of low end smartphone.

@ddaacc true--Chatr has access to Rogers' 2G GSM network.  However, if this spec list is to be believed https://www.phonearena.com/phones/ZTE-Z223_id10057, then the phone will work fine with Public Mobile (it shows UMTS 850MHz and 1900MHz which are the correct frequencies).

That ZTE model is only $45.  How much did you expect to pay for a brand new flip phone??

I didn't realise that small flip phones are just as expensive if not more than low end smartphone.

I have used most of the Samsung Rugby phones.  LG A341.  Alcatel Onetouch. Kyocera Duraxe.   This one is currently on sale, https://www.koodomobile.com/phones/alcatel-go-flip  This one also.  https://www.koodomobile.com/phones/alcatel-onetouch-a392cc-0.  Most stores sell these phone for cheap at the prepaid section.  Any new phone that you can buy in an established store in Canada should work with Public Mobile.
