Failed Registration > Now says SIM is invalid

Hi,

I tried to create a new account and register for a new plan.

Went through all the steps. On the last page I hit activate.

It said something like 'unknown failure try again'.

Now I get stop at the 1st step, as it says I have an invalid SIM (which I assume is now 'tied up' with my previous registration.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Many thanks.

Hi all,

Thanks for your help.

Not sure who fixed it, but checked out everything and it is working fine now.

Thanks everyone for your efforts!

@Marbrus  Yes please submit a ticket / contact Moderator_team.

Btw, are you able to confirm whether your credit card was charged?

Try using your SIM card, what happens?

I tried again this morning.

Still invalid SIM, and now it says:  "Self Serve username you have entered is not available"

Even though it didn't say that the first 10 times, but it is saying it now.

Even though it is seperate problem, we might have to fix both issues at the same time.

I can't login from the login page. And trying to "reset pw" it says, username not found (so is it registered or not?).

How can I register this phone plan if I can't login?

*sigh*

That glitch, really messed things up!

I guess a ticket is the only way to go. Hopefully someone with some admin-power see what is going on.

Thanks everyone for your advice!

@Marbrus

Check to see if your activation completed or if it failed midway thorough.

1. Check your credit card to see if your plan fee was already charged.

2. If yes, pop your SIM card in your phone to see if it is working.

3. Check to see if your self serve account has been created. Can you logon?

If all is well, then great.

If not, you may need to contact Moderators to complete the activation.

Use SIMon chatbot to submit a ticket to Moderators

1. Click the green "?" on the lower right of this page

2. Type "Contact moderator"

3. Click "Account-specific question"

4. Click "No, I want a human"

5. Click "Submit a ticket"

6. Login if your username/password are not filled in.

7. Click the drop down menu (in the white area).

8. Pick the topic that fits your issue and follow the directions to submit it.

9. If none of the topics are correct click Other/Something Else until you reach the blank form.

If you encounter problems with submitting a ticket, you can also send a private message to Moderators, but this alternate contact method may have longer response time.

I tried new browser / incognito mode, etc, but it's not a browser issue.

It's a server side error (but I tried it anyways).

Unfortunately it still failed.

It's been 2 hours.

Hopefully the SIM gets released.

Thanks

LOL! Yes, I meant the SIM card (mistake on my part).

It's been over an hour, still says invalid SIM  😞

I'll try again later and again tomorrow.

Hope it gets "cleared"

Thanks!

@Marbrus , are you attempting a number port?  IMEI is one of the identifiers used for number porting.  That is the IMEI of the last phone used to connect to the old network.  Generally, customers use account number as the identifier for porting rather than IMEI, not that the latter doesn't work.  As noted, any failures results in session lock for about an hour.

Do you mean the sim card number? The IMEI number is not used during the signup process unless a number is being ported in, and even then, it doesn't have to be used most of the time.

Because of the failed attempt, your SIM Card may still be locked.

You can try again in 50 mins.

In the meantime, try clearing your browser cache, restarting your computer may help.

Open a new tab with incognito mode when you are ready to retry.
