@Bev2 , try this to reset network

  1.  At first open the Settings.
  2. Then select System and Advanced.
  3.  After that choose Reset options and Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  4. After that choose Reset options and Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.

@Bev2

Try this....

Quit and restart your Messaging app.

If you are using Hangouts as your default messaging app and this is the first time you have trouble sending or receiving SMS or MMS messages, then try to quit the app and then re-launch or open it again

Still not working.  Thanks for trying!

No, not the same.  Factory reset erases everything including pictures, mesaages, apps, and phone numbers. Network reset puts wifi and network settings back to the start.

@Bev2

If you are iphone:

*ensure imessage is enabled

*ensure SMS is enabled

If you just ported a phone number into Public Mobile or just activated with a new number give it another hour or so.

You could also try one or more of the below:

*turn off your phone, leave off for a minutes, then reboot

*removing your SIM for a few minutes, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode for a few minutes, then going back to regular mode

*reset network settings

i suspected the chat features too, but that's Google messaging specific. let us know what specific app you're using for texting and we can go from there. and let us know what you've tried so far (reboot, etc)

Maybe the Chat feature is turned on?

If your chat feature are on, Turn it off:
  1. On your device, open Messages .
  2. At the top right, tap More. Settings.
  3. Tap Chat features.
  4. Toggle "Enable chat features" on or off.

Does this work?

If still not work, just want to confirm what plan do you currently have?
