Can not send SMS

Hello all,

Anyone struggling to make a phone call and/or send an SMS/MMS last night (around 8pm PST)?

I can make a phone call today, but it is unstable. SMS/MMS is not working yet.

I restarted my phone many times and nothing changed.

I still think you should try it on your old or some other phone, if it's not account related problem moderators cannot help

@marimacas  Known issue with older iPhones (google for more info). If it works with another device then it's a hardware antenna issue.

 

Maybe try a network reset.

Hi @marimacas 

It would be nice to try it on another phone.

The soldering in the phone may be going.

Sim may pickup some dirt.

There may be something with your account.

One of my phones I(guess because of heat) expanded a bit and contacts were giving, you might have bumped it when hanging your jacket or bag, or maybe it's all fine and your service gotr affected by some changes they did to the system and has to be reprovisioned

I switched to iPhone 6 last December. The phone is working without problems.

I don't know why the connection problem started suddenly.

If it works properly with your Android phone and intermitingly with your iPhone, it sounds like it may be a contact problem with your iPhone . You may have to take it into the store.

Is this phone new to you? Your SIM just put in? Or have you had it for a while and just suddenly this is happening?

I'm not an Apple guy but can you connect your phone via USB to a computer running iTunes and get any carrier updates.

Tried as many ways as I know ...

I can browse web sites, but it takes time to connect or timeout.

Can you test your sim in another phone? This way you know if it is service or the device.

In iMessage make sure SMS is on.

MMS requires data mode on. (plan data not needed) Are you able to browse the web?

I am using iPhone 6s as well and my SMS/MMS are going through fine. Try putting the phone on airplane mode and turn off the phone.  Take the Simcard out and insert it back.

Turn the phone back on and turn off the airplane mode.

see if this fixes the issue.

@marimacas Previously everything worked well? Do you have strong signal? One of the solutions I can propose is to send a message to moderators, and they can restart your account from their end. It helped me 2 days ago with the same problem: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
