Account problem: new SIM, new service, new phone number, no service

pmuserv

I have a new SIM, activated new service with new phone number, but do not have service.

My phone is an unlocked Google Pixel 4a 5G phone.

(I have tried 5g and 3g preferred network type, but it doesn't make a difference)

When I try making a call, my phone says "mobile network not available".

Pm connects to 4G LTE and 3G. It automatically switches to 3G for calling.

Or is "It" the phone? 🙂

@Anonymous

Yeah, yeah, yeah that's what I meant!🙄

Edit:

That was more info than I needed to know about calls switching to the 3G network.

Apparently in another post, someone said that if

Plans & Add Ons shows a phone number, then there is a backend problem with the number assignment.

How can I get someone from Public Mobile to look into this backend problem?

I assume this is a common problem and easy fix...

@pmuserv

Does the SIM work inside another phone?

Reset your network settings with the Public Mobile SIM card in the device.

Cool. It took me down to the diagram to figure out what UE was.

Try rebooting the phone by powering down the phone then check to see if the PM SIM is seated in properly. Then power on the phone to see if the network is connected. It should show Public Mobile on the top left corner of the phone.

If this fails, click on the SIMon chat button and ask to contact a moderator for help.

BTW, PM doesn’t connect to 5G…only 3G.

@pmuserv

Although you can try taking out the sim card for a few minutes. Reseat it and reboot your phone just in case.

@pmuserv

Your pm sim card did not activate correctly. Click on the chat bubble at the bottom right corner of your screen. Type sim card activation reprovisioning and human and follow the prompts to submit your ticket to the moderators.

Keep an eye on your private message box for a message from the moderators in the next hour or two.
