3g not working

i just did register to public mobile with a 40$ forfait including 4.5gb of 3g but 3g not working

everything else as worked even number transfer, so i am using iphone 4s can anyone help?

3G is basically LTE lite. Your data speed will be slower but the network is on LTE. So make sure you have network mode set to LTE for best coverage. 


Since jahme is using an iPhone 4s, setting the network to LTE isn't possible as that model phone does not support LTE. 

 

@jahme  , what exactly do you mean by 3g isn't working? All of Public Mobile's voice services are provided over the 3g network. is it just the data not working that you're speaking of?  Ironically, since your phone model doesn't have LTE, you'll actually be receiving faster speeds than if you were connected to an LTE network, because to my knowledge, Public Mobile never implemented any speed restrictions to the 3g network.

 

This is almost sometihng to do wtih the APN settings, if it is your data that isn't working.  Try the suggestions mentioned by @will13am.

Hey Jahme, Comme ca va,

 

I just took my PM sim out of my 6 and put it in my 4s. Took a few seconds and it first showed telus than Public Mobile with 3g. Checked a couple random sites and they were perfectly, so it is capable, now to figure out what you need to do. Looking for the APN settings.

T'as dit "forfait" alors je pense que vous parlez français?

Ouvrir votre Safari et accéder un site au hasard, e.g. https://google.com. Est-ce que votre iPhone faites suivre à https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/zero-balance (ou le même page français)?

Si oui, c'est un problème de votre compte.

Si non, c'est un problème de votre phone. Visitez ici.

 

You said "forfait" (instead of "plan") so I guess you speak French?

Open Safari and go to a random website. Are you shown the zero-balance page instead?

If so, that's a problem with your account.

If not, it's your phone's problem. See here.

@jahme, this is a rather old thread from a customer having issues with the same phone on this service.  Please try to follow the troubleshooting that was done.  The thread was marked solved, so the solution provided worked.
