3G or LTE

I am debating to go for the 3G plan or 4G/LTE.

I am using 4G now, but want to get a cheaper plan.  Is there anyone using 3G? Can you give some review?

@Vballxox if you are asking about the zoomer deal there is a thread in the community

The 3G plans actually use PM's (read: Telus') LTE network, so it'll have the same reliability and coverage, but download and upload speeds are capped at about 2.5 mbps:

Note that the 3G upload speed was previously capped at around 400 kbps, but was upgraded to match the download speed of 2.5 mbps, according to that update.

That thread is also a good read for user experiences and feedback with the 3G plans.

For example, here's a Youtube video posted by oracle @srlawren of a side by side comparison of the LTE and 3G data services being used to make a WhatsApp Video Call:

Thanks so much for the detail info!

You'll still be connected to the LTE network for data, just throttled down to a lot slower speeds. I think there was a thread or two here where a couple people shared their experiences - I (ancedotally) remember the upload speeds being particularly slow.

How much data do you use a month? If 2gb zoomer has a good deal right now. From what I remember the 3g is ok for most things but u notice it when uploading or downloading files apps. Streaming is ok.
