texting on a talk only plan

hoping to find some real world experience.  

does anyone know for a fact if i am on a talk only plan if i can receive texts messages?  or are incoming texts also blocked.

I do not need to send sms on this account but want to know if say google/ microsoft/ uber bank send a verification text that i will receive it.

@mimmo unfortunately no, you will not receive any text messages without having the global texting option in your plan.  😞
