texting from the US to another canadian phone

Hi 

I was just wondering can I send a text while in the United States to another Canadian Phone using my current Public Mobile plan? If no can I do it with a special package? If yes how much?

If you have an iPhone, you can text someone with an iPhone through iMessage on wifi for free.

Your other options are:

• to download WhatsApps (the other party must also have WhatsApps) or TextNow for free wifi calling and texting.
• to purchase USA Roaming plan

No, you cannot send text in US without a roaming add-on purchased

Data and Text roaming is a good deal and easy to use. 

But Talk roaming might not work well.

Are you just looking to send text in US?  You can get a free VoIP app, maybe TextNow.  Then you can send and receive text  and calls (on another number you picked when you register with TextNow) for free.  it works when you have Wifi or Mobile Data

The only thing you can use for free is to receive text when you are in US. But only receive and not sending text, and only if you connects to T-Mobile
