Anybody that got a text message regarding the 1GB bonus should receive the data automatically. Bonus data does not expire until fully used.

It will be automatically added to your account.
Once it’s been applied to your account, you will receive a confirmation SMS.

@Cahmeruns it stays there until its used up. If you have data on your plan it will use that data first every month and then go in the free 1gb after your plan data is used up
