I signed up for the 25.00 plan which states on the website it includes text and picture messaging.. but I didnt get it. It shows only international text without picture messaging. I chose from this website, shich clearly states the 25.00 plan includes international text and picture messaging.
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/plans?ds_rl=1268486&ds_rl=1268486&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImfyw4Pzx5gIVl9...
BUT when I try to send a picture message through SMS, it errors my picture, stating data unavailable. Will send text but not picture.

@Charitus Thanks for the update. That info will definitely help someone in the future with the same issue. We all learned something new today. And I suppose we still need telus every once in awhile.....
01-15-2020 01:56 AM
this info was the most helpful..Telus called and told me to add only the first 3 on APN type. that worked instantly. Didn't need the last 3.. supl, fota, hipri.
thanks for help..they asked me to pick the best solution..so I'm picking this answer.

Was this resolved without having to perform a factory reset?

You can but it's rather frowned upon as it can open up gaming the system. It's likely that solutions are part of the reward calculation.
But in this case no one said to delete and replace and have that set of values in the APN Type field. So fair enough. It's also good that the OP came back with the update for us all to be aware of.
The Oracles watch these things carefully and would take action if they think there's a problem.

@Charitus wrote:Hi everyone, just wanted you to know that my issue is been resolved and posting it as promised. I had a Telus customer service representative call me. I deleted the APN information and everything was exact except for the area that was APN type.
They had me only add default, MMS, AGPS and left the rest out. it instantly worked and now my MMS is functioning.
thanks for everything!

I've tried everything all of you have suggested. I can't thank you all enough for all the time you took trying to help me. thankyou.
I'll have to plan on a factory reset sometime soonish. I'll have to save stuff..double check I've got everything before I do it. The mobile has never given me any grief like a lot of reviews. it's actually been a really good one. I'll post in a few days time to let you know if that resolved it.
thanks again.

@Charitus Change your MMSC to:
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc from MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy.mb.mmsc
Don't forget to save these settings and then select this APN as the active one.

For LG G4 phone, you need to do a network reset after changing provider before your data working again. If network reset does not work, back up your data and do a factory reset.
Good luck.

@Charitus I see you have an LG phone there are many reports that a network reset or factory reset needs to be done to correct this issue.
First try a network rest.
If it still does not resolve the problem you will have to factory reset your phone. Before doing a factory reset ensure that you backup your phone so you don't loose pictures, contacts, etc.
Keep us posted if that resolves your issue.

nothing past APN roaming on list. I dont see mnvo on the input / info screen. I corrected the MMSC. Saw my errors. TY.. I just tried to send a pic again, no go. I see a different set of config options in a different area.. network mode or network operators.. ..I searched networks and it found public mobile. dunno if this does anything.. sigh. no picture message has gone through as of yet.
I double checked to make sure my phone was compatible with PM. before I signed up.

I know it's been a while and you've perhaps already heard from the moderator team but...maybe you could post screenshots of your APN settings and the exact make/model/submodel of your phone.
All plans include picture messaging (MMS). For my time here, I've never heard of someone not able to send MMS for a reason other than the phone. It's almost certainly a configuration issue with your phone.
01-07-2020 04:29 PM
@ChowtimeApricot They'd have to have the ability to receive it as well.
Both phones must have the data turned on. It will not use your data, as for theirs, they'll have to check into it.

This page says Unlimited International Text and Picture Messaging so it should work. You're right.
Try sending an MMS to a canadian number. If that works then you'll have to message the mods and ask them why it's not working.

@Charitus wrote:im not saying my data isnt working, Im saying my PICTURE messaging is not. I can SMS just fine in text, but my picture messaging errors out .. it wont allow pics to go through
@Charitus SMS (text) is not the same as MMS (picture). In order for MMS to work it needs data to be configured and enabled on your device. Text does not require data to be on or configured. MMS is included in your plan. You can test it by sending one to a number within Canada and let us know if it works. If you get the same error it means that the APN Type setting withing your APN settings is incomplete.
01-07-2020 12:33 PM
ok so inside my account it doesnt state I have picture messaging on my plan.. I signed up through the plan from that link I posted earlier that stated It INCLUDED international picture messaging.. but this is what I read in my account now: NO PICTURE MESSAGING INCLUDED. why???

@CharitusAre you trying to send an MMS to an international number? If not, and it's a local number make sure you have data turned on and your APN Type contains mms as part of the value string.
01-07-2020 12:13 PM
You need to enable data in order to send/receive MMS.
Is your data working?
If not, enable data, restart your phone to let PM SIM to configure your APN settings. Try to send picture MMS again.
01-07-2020 12:11 PM
You have to ensure data is on to send MMS messages.
Also you need to make sure the APN settings are correct on your phone. They should be like this.
