Hey, guys, am I the only one having this issue? incoming calls going straight to voicemail without ringing
it was the issue back then when I just started with Public Mobile 2 years ago. I tried everything I could;
Any suggestions, guys, it's very frustrated, indeed!

hi @Preett it could be because of the 3G-VoLTE problem. Telus or Bell might have retired some 3G towers around you to make road for 5G in the area. Note 9 is around 5+ years old, the phone itself still working well but it might be time for a new phone with VoLTE and whitelisted with PM

Hello Bon Citoyen,
Did your issue of incoming calls go directly to voicemails without even ringing is resolved or did you changed your cellphone. I am asking this to you because I am facing the same issue from last year, at that time it was few numbers, but now numbers are going up rapidly. I also have a Samsung Note 9 and planning to change my phone but it cost me more. Thanks

@Becool29 hope it just a just a 3G network equipment issue at the tower closest to you and they can fix it quickly

Thanks, @softech I just did it😉

we made some progress at least
The fact that when at 3G network, the phone not connected at all, it means there is no 3G network in your area , maybe network issue at the moment. PM mainly uses 3G for voice. Without 3G , there is no voice calls. Only workaround is to use VoLTE. But what phone is that? was that a Note 9? Note 9 is not VoLTE compatible with PM so this won't work
btw, if you go to another area, you should be able to use 3G and see it connected, and voice call will work
I suggest you to open ticket with PM and tell them your location and let them know that you cannot connect 3G there and hence you don't have voice calls. Please message support here:

@softech as I promised I'd let you know how was the issue going after I setting up my phone network settings as "3G only", and it's NOT working at all, the calls still randomly directly goes to my voicemail box WITHOUT ringing😶, Maybe, finding another phone phone to try my SIM card would be final step to figure out whether it's my phone or my network provider (which is PM😔)

Ok, @softech I'll let you know if it's working at the end of today😉

yes, that is the settings (same as perferred network). The 3G Only is the same as HSPA Only, try that mode
09-28-2023 10:12 AM
@softech under Mobile Networks, there are 3 settings: GSM/HSPA/LTE (auto connect), GSM only, HSPA only....NO Preferred Network Mode option🤔
09-27-2023 10:24 PM
did you try setting the Preferred network mode to 3G Only or WCDMA Only?
Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Mode.

Way to ask before proceeding! #2.

Oh, my! @Chalupa_Batman I found "Reset" button, there are 4 "Reset":
should I reset the FIRST one? "Reset settings"?

Settings icon > scroll to and select General management > select Reset > Reset network settings >
I think it's somewhere right around there. Just remember if you reset the network, you lose all saved WiFi passwords for everywhere you've been. So just try resetting the phone network. Sorry I haven't used a Samsung in a decade. Last Samsung I have was a Samsung 4 Mini. LOL... what are they on now?? 22, 23?

HI @Becool29
I think maybe you should contact a CS Agent to ask them to reset your network on their end. That should clear the problem. I've seen this on the forums here several times with the same issues and when they contact CS and reset network, it goes back to normal.

trying my SIM card in different phone is the ONLY thing I haven't done 'cos I just have one phone myself, I need to borrow one to have a test someday, I guess.
"Resetting the network settings and rebooting" sounds so IT guy thing, can it be done by going my phone "setting"? I don't see "Network Settings" item, which "catougary should I looking at? Setting-Connection-Mobile networks?

Hey, @Chalupa_Batman it DOES to the numbers on the contact list as well, and that bothers me a great deal. my phone Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Beside, I turned off "block Number" feature as well just to avoid blocking ANY numbers, so almost 90% of the calls going to my voicemail box without ringing, regardless.

Hi @Becool29
This happened to me recently. iPhone perhaps? If so, it has to do with the "Block Unknown Number" option. Before it was just block actual number that come up unknown caller. Now it seems to block all numbers not on the contact list. So if you do have an iphone, go turn it off and reboot and then ask someone that went to voicemail to try you again.

Sorry to hear you’re having this issue. Is there any way you can try your sim in a different device to see if the same problem persists?
I would also try resetting your network settings and then rebooting. This will wipe your saved WiFi networks but those can be easily re-added
