how to sign up without a phone

Hello,

I have a family member who like to join Public mobile for his cell phone. He is currently in Northern Village in Canada where isn't cell phone signals. He won't be able to receive messages or calls. Is there a way he or I can get this done for him ? I'm located in Montreal.

Many thanks,

Mei.

@MeiFu

Why don’t he port his number over to Fongo?
Fongo app working on wifi and he can make calls and text with his current number…in Northern Village and Montreal.

There is a one time $25 fee for porting over to Fongo.

hi @MeiFu

check the coverage map and make sure he has signal with PM while up there

He wants to keep his number and he comes to south once a while and he needs the phone. Right now, he is with another carrier, the phone bill has jumped up to $60+ a month. He doesn't want to use that carrier anymore. PM will be a good choice for the future. He wants to switch ASAP.

@MeiFu

it can be done, but why would he want to activate an account with Public Mobile if there's no cell service where he lives.

if your relative has no signal up North, why he wants to join PM?

even if he will come and find you soon and will have signal, why he does not want to wait till coming over?

But if he has Wifi, and his phone has eSIM, he can download PM app and active eSIM himself

if his phone has no eSIM and he wants you to sign up for him first, yes, you can.  Get a physical sim card first, get a PM sim from Telus , Koodo or Mobile Klink or Amazon, then download PM app and use his email address to sign up (if you already has PM app on your phone, make sure you logoff complete first before using his email to signup)
