If you happen to have an amount in "Available Funds" which might cover the plan amount, I'd recommend continue using your plan until the funds are consumed.
Removing auto-pay will prevent additional monies being added to Available Funds, but it won't prevent the account from drawing upon funds which may already be in those funds from going toward plan renewal.

Remove your credit card from autopay.
To set up AutoPay, sign in to your Self-Serve account, select the ‘Payment’ tab, then ‘Register for AutoPay’. From here, you can sign up for AutoPay or remove the feature, if you no longer want payments to automatically occur. If you would like to change the card that is automatically charged, scroll to the bottom of the ‘Payment’ tab, then select ‘Manage my card’. This will allow you to update or remove your credit or Visa Debit card.
You can also enable Lost Phone suspension option. Anyway, after 90 days your account will be closed in 90 days.

Follow @stevenanto advice to cancel your account. If you have a plan such as the $10 50/50 plan, the $60 US/Canada roaming plan or some of the older grandfathered 90 day plans there are customers who would like to acquire such a plan and would love to take it over. Any accumulated rewards would add value to it and a negotiation could take place.....

@kymnwt If you are looking to completely canceling with PM and not port out your number you literally just have to remove your credit card if on Autopay and let it expire, nothing more to it than that.
At your next renewal date, if no payment has been made, your account will be put into a suspended state and your phone service will no longer work until another payment is made.
If by day 90 of the suspended period, still no payment has has been made, your account and SIM card will be permanently deactivated.
