Hello. What does an x under a partially filled signal bar icon indicate and how can it be solves. Also seems as though outgoing voice calls have muted voice volume. Could the two be connected. We have just come through a winter snowstorm overnight, could this have an affect?

Which model phone do you use? Is all aspects of your phone working?
Sometimes it might mean that your data is turned off.

@tammyjordan Would help if you listed the model of your phone.
Does it look something like below?
If X is on top means you're data is off.
If X is on bottom it means your data is on but you have no internet connection.
So since you said it is ok bottom. Can you browse the web?

@tammyjordan Weather could be a factor with network.
Have you rebooted your phone recently? Reboot it. Also toggling into airplane mode and back again can help with reconnecting to the network.
Check your volume setting. If it is all the way down, turn the volume up.

Check the Telus service outage map for your location.

You may also wish to try resetting your network connections or forcing the device to 3G mode to see if that helps.
