Hello everyone!

Would the Samsung Galaxy A13 (A135M/DS) - International Version work on PM network?

Thanks a lot!

@Matheo

your phone has the following bands (BOLD are compatible banda)

3G:HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100

4G: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 42

You phone will work on PM but it won't work great.

You lacks  one of the two bands on  3G, so, expect some dropped calls.

You have two compatible LTE bands but you should have B4 and B12 for more stable network and your phone does not have it.

if you are planing to buy this, I would avoid and choose its North American version instead.

But if you have it already, then try using it and see how it goes

Hi @Matheo different Network towers could have different bands.

Although you can check some site that might have the the info on a particular tower,  but that is only useful to check tower info around your home.  You want to get as many bands as possible so when you move around  you won't have trouble

Thanks! Is it possible to know what bands are used in a specific location?

Hi @Matheo

PM has no such list anymore.   Too many phones,  hard to keep track

generally, all phones sold in Canada and are eal Canadian version, will work.

If you go with international version, go with bigger brands like Samsung,  Motorola

Here they are,  @Matheo

Minimum recommended phone specs:

  • 3G UMTS/W-CDMA/HSPA: B2 (1900) and B5 (850)
  • 4G FDD-LTE: B4, B12

Currently VoLTE is not available and voice calls are only on 3G. SMS and data can work on 3G or LTE. Fastest data speeds are on LTE.

For LTE, these are all of the available bands on the network: 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 29, 30, 66. Some bands are available in some locations, others available elsewhere.

Any phone you are considering should ideally have 3G B2, B5 and LTE B4 (or B66 instead of B4), B12 (or B17 instead of B12) for minimum coverage. If your phone does not have all recommended bands, you may have poor coverage / no service / slow data in some locations.

For LTE: B2, B7 will give you faster speeds. LTE B5 will give better indoor coverage in some downtown urban areas. The rest are not really necessary.

Thanks! Is there a list of all the bands used by PM?

Hi @Matheo Samsung A13 would work, but not it does not have all the bands PM needs, so, it might not work as great in some area
