I know Public changed to a new rewards system, but what happened to my previous rewards?? I've been with these guys for a number of years and only have the basic plan because I seldom use it. Between renewal and referral rewards my bill before tax was only $6 - this month it went to $15 --- seems a bit unfair.

Let's assume that you're on a $50 plan (I'm unsure of which plan you currently have). Paying only $6 per 30 days does not mean that your plan is only collecting $6 of revenue and that it has costed Public Mobile $44. In such an example, it costs Public Mobile $1/1 point per referral to gain a new customer (plus a one time $10 credit). That's a bargain to get a new customer. If someeone has referred 100 customers, it makes no difference to Public Mobile if those 100 new customers were referred by one person or 100 different existing customers.

@Homely They didn't get there by perpetuating bad business models.

Because loyalty doesn’t exist when it comes to larger company - customer interactions.
When business is no longer profitable for certain customers, companies find a way to slowly push out those who are reducing their potential profit margins.
But they almost always try to find ways to make it seem better and preferential for the customer in an attempt to save face.
Anyone who does their homework knows it’s just smoke and mirrors.

The "ethical" company wants to stay in business and can't do that by giving out $6 plans. Yes it's unfortunate, but it makes sense. You can still cash your points in for account credits in 15 points ($15) increments.

I've gone from paying $9 to $17 after tax. It's not fair even with the 5GB bonus they gave us, but in this economy i don't even know what company can provide a better plan...

It not only sucks, it is disgusting. How can any ethical company take away what they already gave you for your loyalty??

It looks like you have been customer for 5 years. The $5 you would have gotten each month under old legacy award is gone and will never come back. Once a year on your anniversary, you will get 10 points. It looks like your anniversary just passed so you may have to wait until next year. I don't know because this new rewards is so new.
Each month, after you renew, you will get 5% or 0.75 points on a $15 plan and 1 point for any still active renewals.
When you have accumulated 15 points, you can covert them into a $15 bill credit to reduce your payment. Or you can use the points to redeem them for stuff like minutes, data, etc. Good luck.

So my plan has increased by 250%. Time to look around if this is how Public rewards loyal customers, including those I referred....

@Homely Yes everyone still on the old rewards system is being or has been switched to the points system this month. So instead of an automatic discount you will be collecting points and have to log in to redeem them. On the $15 plan you will pay the full price going forward and collect points at the rate of 0.75 a month, you'll get 10 points on your anniversary and referrals stay the same at 1 point ($1). When you have enough points you can log in to My Rewards and redeem them for a bill credit (only $15 currently) or discounted add ons. There were notifications that this was happening that you must have missed, and you also should have got a "compensatory" 5GB in bonus data.
