VoLTE - Not showing in settings of new Android phone

Hello,

I recently got a new Xiaomi 13T mobile phone. I have been unable to activate VoLTE.

I have followed various instructions including entering the phone codes *#* etc. When I go deep into the settings it shows "not provisioned' and I can't seem to turn it on.

Is this something that needs to be activated at Public Mobile's end? I never had a problem activating VoLTE on my old phone (now over 3 years old).

Dude thanks for this so much.  I have redmi note 12 pro plus 5g and for the last two years I've been using it without this option and I saw the 5g in the corner.  But the signal sucked in my basement and would constantly drop calls.  Soon as I punched this code in.  It said carrier check disabled and then a volte logo popped up in the corner and now I have 4 bars in my basement.  This is a godsend where were you 2 years ago when I bought this **bleep** phone.  Lol... If I could buy you a case of beer I would.  Lol.  Thanks so much for this.

After changing the settings, It now shows 4G / VoLTE before and during a call.

@horizon80   it indicated 4G instead of the previous H+.

Did it say 4G before you made the call, or LTE?

Great to know.  but this only work for Xiaomi phone

I did some further research and found the following solution:

Step 1: Dial * # * # 86583 # * # *. Once you are done, there will be a message ” VoLTE Carrier check was disabled ” appear on the screen, thus activating Volte on your Xiaomi phone. The message disappears quickly.

Once I did this, VoLTE appeared in the settings menu and when I placed a call (with wifi disabled) it indicated 4G instead of the previous H+. Problem solved!

hi @horizon80

H+ mean it is 3G, no VoLTE as I expected.

Sorry, PM is going by brand and Xiaimi is not a brand they whitelist at the moment

I turned of WiFi and data showed "4G". When I placed a call, it changed to H, then H+.

@horizon80  Thanks. I check and it's showing 4G/LTE.

When you have turned off wifi, turned on cellular data, what does it show in the status bar?  If you make a phone call does that change?  I'm just wondering if you are looking somewhere else in the settings to see 4G/LTE instead of at the top bar of the phone.

Thanks. I check and it's showing 4G/LTE.

hi @horizon80

unfortunately,  PM pretty much just stay with the main brands for VoLTE, so even your Xiaomi is a high end phone within the brand, it is not phone sold in the Canadian market

I previously had the lower-end Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and activating VoLTE was not a problem. The new phone, Xiaomi 13T is part of their higher-end line. I have checked various sources online and they indicate that the phone supports VoLTE.

@horizon80 Xiaomi phones are not "certified" for VoLTE on Public Mobile.  What phone did you have before?  The list is here

hi @horizon80

I don't think your phone is VoLTE whitelisted

but on the list or not, PM system will push to hide that option so people don't play around with it

best way to test.  While you see you are on 5G or 4G/LTE, make a call.  If the network stays on 4G or 5G , you have VoLTE.  If not and if it drops to 3G or WCDMA , then you are not on the whitelist
