Unable to receive calls in rural area

I just switched to PM.  I had no issues before.  Now I can't make or receive calls in rural area.  In the city is fine.  I have a Samsung S21.  My husband has a S20 and it works fine.   Previous carrier was Fido.  We both swited over yesterday. I can still send and receive texts and I have data.  I am still waiting for tech support to find a solution.

And yet I know of 2 s20's that work.  And an s21 that doesn't

Rebooted.  No difference.   I'm leaning towards a hardware issue. Some 20's work.  Some don't.  Same with the 21's I believe.

It won't work.  I've tried all the settings.  They have shut down 3G in rural areas.  Winnipeg is next.

S21 is on PM's VoLTE whitelist now.  It wasn't before but they put that on the whitelist last year

But S20 still not on the whitelist and likely won't in the future either

From the research I've been doing, the S20 and S21 may or may not work, depending on where they were manufactored.  PM support is still trying to find an answer for me, but I'm accepting any help.  Thanks

S21 is now on PM's VoLTE whitelist.  Not sure why yours not working

I am thinking that is what is happening.  With 4 cells phones I have been working with (Different people, not all mine.  🙂 ) , 3 were S20's and 1 was S21.  2 of the 3 S20's didn't have an issue.  The S21 is behaving the same way that the remaining S20 did.  In theory, it looks like this S21 should work fine.  However, it only works in Winnipeg and the area surrounding it, not further out.  Thanks for the input.  I'll continue talking to PM tech support.

it could be a VoLTE issue with your cellphone. Not all will work with Public Mobile using VoLTE. Here's a link to some reading and a device checker at the bottom of the page. You might need a newer cell maybe.

Another thing...try swapping sims with hubby to see if same issue occurs when you trade sims.

Are you in MB where 3G has been shut down? If so VoLTE support would be needed, I think the S20/21 is around the cutoff for working on Public, can check here https://publicmobile.ca/en/get-help/articles/volte
