I have an iPhone 13, running iOS 17.3.1. For the past week, I have been unable to listen to voice messages that have been left. On the screen it shows 3 messages (red bubble showing 3), but when I call voice mail it says “you have no messages “. I know that at least one of those messages is a real message. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank you! Turning off Live Voicemail did the trick.

@Debra25 Tap the voicemail icon at the bottom right in the phone app and it will take you to messages in Apple Live Voicemail. if you don't want to use that feature you can disable it as already suggested.

Just a heads up @Debra25 it's now at 17.4.1 and the update may fix this issue as well. Might wish to upgrade while you sleep. 🙂

@Debra25 sound like confusion with Live Voicemail on iPhone
Try turn off Live Voicemail by going to Settings > Phone > Live Voicemail and toggling it off.
