@Samdan - you do not activate the new SIM card through the regular activation process, if you have a current account already.
See "How To Change Your SIM Card" at the bottom of this Help Article: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/sim-swap-fraud

No, you do not ACTIVE the new sim card you obtained.
You just swap the SIM number connected to your account. @softech shows the steps.
You can also see here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/sim-swap-fraud
But, it sounded like you did activate the new SIM? So, you paid for a new account and plan?
If so, sorry to hear it. Not sure if CSAs can help. But if you explain your situation, they may.
Public Mobile Representatives customer support agents (CSA) can be contacted by either two methods, found here:

your account is active in here,
use browser from computer, clear cache and cookies and use one page inPrivate mode,
go to top up at Quick links and you will see change SIM card, then change the number and save changes and insert SIM card in device.
you will get verification code by email or SMS
and when you press the 6 digit number and not press anything
just wait a 3 second automatically be login.

what wrong with old SIM card, just login and pay your bill and will be active account and no need to new account to set up, and not allowed you have a number with PM and open new account in PM no way.
but if you have a issue with old SIM card you can login to change SIM card number.

@Samdan What's the reason you would like to transfer your old number and service to a new sim card? Did you lose your phone? If not, anything wrong with the sim card? If you just got a new phone, simply transfer the sim from your old phone to the new one.
