I recently switched my service to public mobile from Rogers. I can make out-bound calls, but can’t receive calls or send/receive text messages.
My precious account was de-activated, because it was linked to my deceased fathers business. im trying to maintain my old phone number, it seems like the port has been started but not completed.

Hi @ Hannapoulsen,
I sent you a private message. You can view and reply to it by accessing this link: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Two things need to be in place before porting your father’s business number over to PM.
- The Rogers account needs to be active so don’t cancel service before porting. If you cancelled the account before porting then to number will be returned to the carrier the number was initially taken. In this case, you need to pick a new number unless it was a Koodo or Telus number then there is a slim chance you might get it back.
- Reply to the text from Rogers confirming you are porting the number over to PM with YES within the 90 minutes window with the Rogers SIM in the phone. Once porting is completed, the Rogers account will automatically close.

Hello @Hannapoulsen
Just wish to clarify a few things as there seems to be some confusion.
Is the Rogers account still active? If you place your Rogers SIM card in the phone, does it still have service? To port over a phone number from another provider, the account has to be active and paid up.

here's some reading and a short tutorial vid that might help...

Let us know if it helps. Good luck.
adding...be aware that the old Roger's account MUST be active in order to port that number in to Public Mobile. If it's not, you may have to pay a month at Rogers or take a new Public Mobile number.

@Hannapoulsen When transfer g number you leave old providers sim (rogers) in phone and should have got text asking you to reply YES to confirm the transfer this text needs to be replied to within 90 mins of receiving the text then put the public SIM card in . But if you didn’t even get the confirmation text call the number in the link I send in last reply and they can re trigger the port request for you
