Traveling to US and unsure of plan

Can someone help me make sense of the Add on's for traveling?  Traveling to the US next week and am confused about the plan options. (I currently only have Canada wide calling.) I need to be able to call within US and also use Waze while driving. It looks like there is a bundle plan for $15. Is this $15/day? Will this allow calls/roaming in US?  Would this be the best plan for me?  And is it really $15/day? Would buying a SIM card in the US be better. I'm a bit of a hopeless techie so any advice would be welcome.

@TJ55 Yup, the iPhone 11 is VoLTE compatible, so you're good. Make sure to turn on Data Roaming in your device settings.

Thank you for this. I'm using the iPhone 11. Hope that works?

$30 option is probably best for your needs. It's $30 for 15 days.

When you go, make sure to turn data roaming ON on your phone, and set your Preferred Network to 4G vs 5G. Network Selection you can leave on Automatic, but if it doesn't connect to T-Mobile or AT&T after about 10 minutes you can try to manually connect.

What phone are you using? I want to make sure it's VoLTE capable for phone call purposes.

@TJ55   The US plans are for 15 days, so the talk and text one is $1 a day.  The $15 doesn't include data.  If you don't want to pay for data maybe you can download Waze to use offline like you can with Google Maps?
