Traveling to Turkey, istanbul

Hi all

I am traveling from Canada to Istanbul, Turkey and my phone is e sim.

1) Should I get a physical sim or will e sim stay connected?

2) Will my internet data and roaming/service stay or will it not work?

Otherwise I may need a Fido or Telus sim card temporary

It seems the service won't work so no point.

I have text now but for it to work, and I have my son with me, what would be best option for pre paid , all I want is internet to make text now and make calls to family. That's all if any issues then I can make calls via internet

You will need to purchase a local SIM (SIM/eSIM compatible) or eSIM (dual eSIM compatible) while in Turkey or you can use WhatsApp on wifi.

PM only has roaming in US and Mexico , therefore, you won't have PM service to your phone number in Turkey

you don't need to change to fido.  Why not buy travel esim or local data sim, then use Fongo to TextNow to make phone calls and text on the number that app assigns you
