1. If I transfer to a new provider, would this be possible if my account is on hold?
2. If I transfer to a new provider, can I use my old phone number?
3. If I transfer to a new provider, what information do I have to give to the new provide
4. If I transfer to a new provider using my old phone number, but later want to transfer back to public mobile, can I use the same phone number?
5. If I transfer to a new provider, but later want to transfer back to public mobile, can I still use this current account or do I have to make a new one?

hi @mateierem
i think you meant you want to try out the new carrier first before jumping to port out?
you can go to My Account, Payment, Manage Subscription and put the account to suspended by toggling the Subscribed there. with that, account will be suspended and won't renew at the end of the current cycle (given that you have $0 in Avaiable fund). The account can be suspended for 90 days like that and you have to resume service before the 90 days deadline or you will loss your number
and you need to resume service to port out the account as account has to be active to port out, you need to receive a text from PM to approve the port

So if my account is on hold, I would have to pay to renew it for the month, then I would be able to transfer?

HI @mateierem
1. no, once your number is ported out, your current account is closed. This is the same with all carriers
2. you can likely use your number with other carriers. But there is some location issue stopped some numbers to going to some particular carriers, you have to ask the new carrier to confirm
3. just give them PM account number, you can get it from My Account, Profile page, or the Account page on PM app
4. if the number can move to the new carrier, it can certainly come back. But when you come back, it will be a new account and you need to subscribe as a new subscriber, get new physical sim card or new esim
5. make a new one
