Which number do I have to phone to talk to a customer service representative to get my old number ported to my new number?

@Adje2 Public will only send you an SMS on your Public Sim card if you are porting OUT of public to another provider.

It is the OLD/previous provider that sends the text. But the NEW provider that initiates the porting SMS with the OLD provider.

I think we're still not clear on exactly what you're trying to do. When porting in from another provider, it replaces the current number of the account. But the confirmation to do that comes from the old provider on the old sim. It doesn't come from Public. If you missed this 90 minute time opportunity then you need to call a porting help line to re-start the porting so as to get the confirmation text.

But still...what exactly are you trying to do?

check the little envelop icon on top right side of page..I sent the number where you can get assistance with a failed port.

 

@Adje2   you are porting out?

You have submitted your port request with your new provider?  are you just not getting the porting authorization text?

Make sure your PM account is active and you can still receive incoming calls and text
Then call your new provider and ask them to re-trigger the porting request.
Wait another hour or two and you should receive that

If still not receive the text from PM asking you to approve the porting,  please open ticket with PM support using this direct link:  https://urlshortner.tiia.ai/Lc9xk8 or message them

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply to you there

Porting is done automatically through PM MY Account. Keep OLD SIM in your phone, reply YES within 90 minutes of receiving SMS from old provider. Both account s have to be active.

@Adje2 - are you talking phone number or SIM card number?

And into or within Public Mobile?

OR ported out of Public to another provider. If this is the case, ensure your Public account is active, and contact the new provider to handle all the porting details.

@Adje2  are you porting number from another provider to your PM account?  If so, you can do that yourself via My Account's Profile page, Transfer number

But if you just got a new sim card and want to tie that new sim card with your old number, you can do it on Profile page, too, click on the Pencil besides Sim card number, then enter the new sim card number
