don't cancel your Rogers plan just yet. Download the Public Mobile app to your cell to create a new account and buy an esim to activate a new plan. (If you use old hard sim, get it before starting this process) During activation, take a new number for now. Once the plan is up and running, then initiate port of your old number in to your new Public Mobile account...your rogers account will automatically deactivate once port is successful.
Make sure to use a referral code during activation to get a $10 credit to your new account.
