TELUS does not sell public mobile sims anymore? IS public Shutting down???

I went to a Telus a few months ago and got my Public Mobile SIM. Now, when I was in my friend's town and visited his local Telus for the SIM card since he wanted to switch to Public Mobile, the Telus employee said they don't sell any more Public Mobile SIMs, and he said none of the other Telus stores sell them either. Is this true? And if so, does that mean Public Mobile might be shutting down??? or is it their way of pushing e-sims...? If so do I purchase the SIM online from PM and they ship it to me without delivery charge? Also I have another older Public Mobile SIM that is not in use anymore and has been disconnected from Public Mobile's service for about 2-ish years. Can I reactivate that SIM somehow?

@Munchking probably too late, but Amazon selling it for only $4.99 + tax, basically half price

Thanks everyone, I went to my local telus and i got the sim from them. They were shocked that other telus didnt have it either. Regardless, paid 10+1.30(tax) = $11.30. Amazon Sells it for around 8 bucks + tax so for future buyers that would save them a toonie.

Also , the dont accept cash unless its exact. just fyi since i got lucky i held change.

I’ve also seen the PM SIM cards sold at bargain shop/red apple.

When it comes to the Telus corporately owned Telus stores selling Public Mobile SIM cards, customers are unlikely to realize which are corporate and which are franchises.  Many dealer locations operate under the Telus banner but are not owned by Telus.

No, they are not shutting down. eSIM is a choice and phone compatibility.

We bought it from Amazon and it came the next day.

You can buy online through PM but it can take up to 3 weeks to arrive at $10+

@Munchking

This is news to me. I was at my local Telus store few months back and they said they sell them. Also PM is the lowest tier of Telus.

You can always purchase the PM SIM for $5 where Telus/Koodo/Mobile Klinik sell them for $10.

Canadian Cell Supplies online sell them for $4 or arrange for pickup if you are in the Mississauga/Oakville area.

hi @Munchking

not all Telus or Koodo stores sell PM sim, only the corporate own stores do.   I just bought  a PM sim from a Telus store last week.  So, call and check ahead to confirm before you go and buy

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/pick-up-SIM

or you can buy from Amazon for cheaper ($5)

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06X9ZGDWG/

And remember , sim can only be used once.  Old sim which activated before cannot be reused

i don't think PM is shutting down anytime soon.  In fact, Telus has been pushing hard to promote PM. PM got the 5G network before  Koodo
