luuerin

I got my 3 month old iPhone 14 pro stolen today. It sucks because I can still track its location. I have since enabled the phone for data deletion and marked the SIM card as lost/stolen. I want to blacklist the phones imei so it can no longer be used as a phone in Canada. Can someone assist me? IMEI #:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for reading.

@luuerin

I hope you brought muscle?!! I was going to suggest a safe exchange zone like in front of the cop shop.....a good Samaritan would refuse the reward unless they really could use it....the bf has recovered a few phones from. Honest folk down on their luck.....it sounds like you may have had a hemmer and hawer......?

The last weekender we had at the Sutton Place turned up an iPhone in our room. We made a member of the housekeeping staff very happy! It was locked of course but I carry a Sim card and a Sim pin with me everywhere so I popped the Sim card out, put it in my phone to retrieve the phone number and left a message for them to call their number.

@luuerin

Glad you got your iPhone back. I hope it wasn’t damaged or anything done to it.

The person seems honest to return your phone in one piece.

Some dishonest people would put the phone on airplane mode so it can’t be tracked.

Wow. That was brave. If you're not, did you bring muscle? 🙂

SOP for cops. Frickin' cops. What are we paying them for anyway? I got a bunch of stuff stolen out of a storage locker. Did I call them? No. For this reason. Why bother.

@luuerin   you were lucky that it was picked up by an honest person.. most lost phone stories do not end like that

I tracked the phone to a house and knocked on the door. The person agreed to give it back so we all good here. Police wouldn’t do anything so knock at your own risk.

@luuerin

Have you sent a message to the phone offering a reward for its safe return? Did you purchase it with a credit card? If it has purchase protection you may still be within the 90 day reimbursement for theft protection.

@luuerin

If you enter your IMEI during activation of your SIM, you can contact a CS_Agent to have it Blacklisted.

Just create a ticket on SIMon Chatbot at the bottom of the page or private message on the envelope icon above.

Login into your iCloud account and track where your iPhone is located.

@luuerin and did you try the locate it and remote wipe via Apple Findmy??  You can also mark it as Lost on Apple so no one can activate the phone with Apple again
