Single ph# in SIM Contacts list calls me, number shows as RESTRICTED

Happy Friday!

Mid March 2025 old Samsung DEAD DEAD DEAD (UK bought Galaxy A03s).
Bought replacement (bit older), Galaxy A10e.
PublicMobile SIM card migrated from DEAD to A10e. All seems working...

Not long after, got a call from Restricted. !! Puzzle - Never seen that before - Oh, it's my GP/Doctor!
Ok, can see why Restricted. No problemo.

Now, curious: OldGuy friend has a (brace yourself) Blackberry of which he's quite fond. He also has a Samsung. Both have PublicMobile SIM in them, & both are in my SIM Contacts lists.

But now, with the A10e (Android 11), calls from his Blackberry show up as coming from Restricted. Consistently.
It was NOT like that on the previous/now-DEAD A03s. (Android 12)

He left VM: the VM voice says: "From: unknown number." Yet it IS in my PM SIM Contacts!

IIRC his Bl can text my A10e ok, does not show as coming from Restricted - need to repeat that test!
I can text his Bl using the contact on PM SIM.
IIRC I can call his Bl using the contact on PM SIM in A10e.
But incoming calls from his Bl to this A10e show as Restricted.
Just that one (antique!) Blackberry cellphone.
(Ok, and my Doctor, but that's grokable.)
Everyone else = shows CallerID ph# fine..

Could it be some PM setting has changed such that really really antique cellphones using a PM SIM can't have CallerID shown??

Is it more likely some fiddly setting on his antique Bl we need to hunt for?
Is it possible some setting on this fairly new-to-me A10e? Have hunted for what it could be - no clues yet.

Grateful for advice!

Not from particular person - my friend has both an (old!) Blackberry, & a Samsung (both with PublicMobile SIM). Only calls from his Blackbrerry show up as Restricted to my Samsung A10e. This never used to happen with my previous (now DEAD) Samsung A03S (Android 12), only since got the emergency replacement A10e (Android 11).

He doesn't think he's changed any Blackberry setting since March 2025, but yeah, you are right - need to check settings on his antique Blackberry

Thank  you very kindly for your feedback + advice!

you always see it showing Restricted when getting call from particular people?

usually Restricted just because the person hide their Caller ID.  You should ask your friend to check his settings instead
