Setting up an account (Billing AB, MB number)

Hi everyone,

I recently moved from Manitoba (204 number) and now reside in Alberta.

My credit card is set-up with my new Alberta address. I’m wishing to port my Manitoba number.

My question is when signing up via the app, will entering my Alberta postal code cause me any issues with porting my Manitoba number?

Thank you!

No, entering Alberta postal code will not cause any issues with porting your MB number.  Postal code is not used for porting anyways.  You will need your old carrier's account number, account holder name and phone number to port your number over.

As mentioned above, if you keep your MB number, you will be paying MB taxes.

@TylerCalgary204 PM charges tax based on the phone number's area code.  You are getting a MB phone number and hence it is taxed based on MB's rate

To save the tax, you have two choices

  1. Change to a new number, an AB number
  2. Buy voucher from local store.  The tax will be charged at the point of sales, hence AB rate.  You can then apply the voucher via My Account or *611
