Does Public Mobile offer senior citizen plans such as Telus Mobile For Good?

11 REPLIES 11

Actually, anyone can join Zoomer, they just positioned the brand to be senior friendly .  Zoomer plans are slightly cheaper than Tier 2's , they have decent $40 - $50 plans with "free" entry level phone if you go with 2 years contract

@LeePublic

Zoomed doesn't offer anything close to the Mobile for Good program....but it's only available to low income seniors or the disabled.

You could also consider ZOOMER Wireless. They are part of CItyFone/Rogers and are targeted at seniors.

The $15 plan has 100 minutes of Canada wide out-going calling with unlimited incoming calls. Also unlimited International messaging and a little taste of data for good measure. If you do find you need more outgoing calling, you can also add-on 500 minutes of Canada wide calling for an extra $5. Those add-on minutes will stay on your account until you use 'em up...even if that takes several months or more. There's even some reasonable priced add-ons for if you want to spend a couple days in USA and use your phone to call most any US or Cdn number while there.

Not a bad option for us retirees notwithstanding.

@AMaulhardt

I should mention that the pm $15 plan does include unlimited international SMS/MMS texts and incoming calling....in case that wasn't clear.

The closest "senior" plan to the Telus Mobile for Good plan is the $15 plan when compared to the no data version of telus's plans priced at $15. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The main difference is telus has unlimited Canada wide calling but you are subject to overages, extra billing and fees. Public mobile has 100 outgoing minutes with the ability to purchase the $5/500min add on, 250mb of monthly plan data, cheap add on prices, freebie gifts and no overages, extra billing or fees.

Sorry PM does not offer a Senior plan like the Telus limited income senior offer for $75 credit on a device and $25/month for 3gb of data.

The $15/month PM plan would be your best option.

If you are referring to this Telus senior offer:

Not specifically no, but they do have options that would rival many senior specific plans I'd say (if not better/cheaper)

In my opinion, the $15 Public Mobile plan is best for seniors.  Plus there are often free giveaways that add long distance minutes and extra data for free!
