If you are carrying a balance in your available funds that exceeds your plan amount removing Auto pay will not suspend your service as plan payments are taken from your available funds first. I suggest you suspend your service via lost/stolen before midnight eastern on day 30 of your cycle. This will prevent the payment system from using your available funds or charging your autopay card for your plan amount and renewing your plan.

By using this method you will also keep your voicemail active while your account is suspended. Pay and reactivate your service before day 89/90 but preferably around day 85 to retain your account and phone number. Unless you have a particular promotion or grandfathered plan that you wish to keep changing your plan to the $15 plan will allow you to maintain the account for lowest possible amount. Suspending for up to 88/89 days then reactivating for 30 days and repeating will allow you to keep your account and phone number for just shy of one year for $45 (3×$15) less any rewards.

Utilizing lost/stolen in this manner does cause a glitch of your rewards not applying automatically. After paying and reactivating you must contact customer support and ask them to apply your rewards manually to your account balance. Also a good reason for leaving autopay intact as this will allow you to earn the $2 reward for each 30 days of active service.

How does Public Mobile prepaid service work?

Prepaid service credits are non-refundable. After ninety days with no active rate plan, your account will be automatically deactivated.

Eh... good point but how many of us ever read small print or Term of service.

Just because someone doesn't read them, make them invalid.   But I do know what you mean not many people read them.

In the Service Terms at the bottom of the page, the 5th point down clearly states that services are "non-refundable":

Sorry.

I did the same thing on Chat with remaining minutes and funds…unfortunately I ported over to PM during the mid of my renewal date…lost everything because it is a prepaid service. 😢😭

HI @brandongraff17

You have already ported out PM or you decide to stop using PM?  there is no refund on PM as it is a prepaid service.

If you have ported out, your account would have been closed.  Again, no refund for the remaining portion of the unused cycle

And if you simply decided to no longer use the service and didn't ported out the number , make sure you login to My Account and disable Autopay Pay.

You used to be able to transfer your balance to another PM account/number but apparently that's not a thing anymore, although some of said you could try with an agent, but no guarantees

How long is "for the time being" ? There's no refunds...but if you re-up your plan in under 90 days, you can still use the balance you're carrying.

Otherwise...no refunds.

Sorry, there is no refund as PM is pre-paid service.

If you are no longer using service and do not want to continue using it, remove autopay and credit card info from account and after 90 days account will be cancelled.

If you do not want to use it just temporary, again remove autopay so account gets suspended on next renewal BUT remember to renew it before 90 days to continue service.
