That’s where I am wrong but I just feel I can get refunded as the old plan that was renewed was cancelled immediately and I subscribed on a new plan in which I got charged for ita full amount

Did you click on switch plan NOW or on your Next Renewal Date?
If you click on NOW, you will be charge for both plans. Always better to renew on your next renewal date.
if you click on your next renewal date then contact a CS_Agent by typing in Submit a Ticket on Chatbot.

did you just make a plan change today using Change Now? if your plan already renewed with the $24 plan and you then use Change Now to make a plan change to $27 plan, it will got double charged. PM support agent might be able to sort it out, check with them. Please submit a ticket with CS Agent using Chatbot here:
